|||A stock built 383 will be worth around 330 hp give or take a little. Just to rebuild it back to stock, If it doesn't need over boring and new pistons, 9 to 1,200 bucks. Look to spend at least 1,500 if it needs boring and new pistons.

What does it cost to have a 1968 383 2 barrel Mopar Dodge engine rebuilt?
have a 68 charger that will need work soon. body and paint im told will be at least 5k. wondering about engine. thanks|||if done right and all the machine work is done on it you should be able to get it done for about 12-1500.00 bucks,that's if your going to go back stock with it,im doing a 440 now and its going to run the guy about 2500.00 but were also changing pistons in it,the machine work alone was around 400 bucks,its not that expensive to build a good 383,good luck|||your welcome.
