What is better a early 70s 318 or 360 MOPAR Engine?

I'm in the process of buying an engine and have heard good about the two. i don't know what to choose. I'm going to build a low budget mid horsepower engine, which would be best. its going in a 1970 Plymouth ValiantWhat is better a early 70s 318 or 360 MOPAR Engine?
unfortunately the Mopar 360, like the other 360's made (Ford and AMC each had one) was garbage. it was underpowered and relatively unreliable. the 318 could be made to match it power wise and was infinitely more reliable. however, for a Mopar, you do have a better small block choice. Chrysler did make a 340 6 pack for a number of years which produced excellent HP as well as proving to be reliable and useful.

it was available until at least 1971 in Chrysler cars.
The 360 would be better - there is NO substitute for cubic inches. I had a '75 car with a 318 and it was probably the second slowest car I ever had (the slowest was a '57 VW pickup truck.) On the plus side, though, it was pretty much bulletproof - nothing ever went wrong with it.What is better a early 70s 318 or 360 MOPAR Engine?
For an automobile I'd go with the 318. It offers good gas mileage and reasonable power. The 360, with it's exceptionable torque, is better suited for a light truck or tow vehicle.
They are both good but you can't beat a 440 MagnumWhat is better a early 70s 318 or 360 MOPAR Engine?
