Can you install a Mopar oil filter on a ford mustang gt?

Can you install/use a Mopar (Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep) oil filter on a Ford. Specifically on a 1999 Ford Mustang GT 4.6L and a Mopar MO-899 oil filter.|||WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT??? THE BRAND OF FILTER DOESN'T MATTER AS LONG AS THE CROSS REFERENCE CHART IS CONSULTED.MOST FILTER MANUFACTURES MAKE FILTERS FOR A LOT OF DIFFERENT VEHICLES. IF YOU CAN'T CROSS REFERENCE THE MOPAR NUMBER DON'T USE IT .......SAVE 5 BUCKS SPEND 10K ON A NEW ENGINE?????|||Use a genuine Motorcraft filter on a 4.6 or any of the overhead cam Ford's!

People don't know this but the Motorcraft filters have an anti drain back valve in them so the valve-train doesn't drain out of oil causing dry valve-train start-ups!|||Maybe.. Some oil filters do fit on other cars, suggest you check the FRAM web page and find out by checking both engines and part numbers.

For example, the oil filter for my 99 Ford Taurus is the same one that goes on an 04 Jeep Liberty. Fram number CA 3600 I believe. The threads for the center and the outside diameter are identical.
